When it comes to the Holidays, there is one thing I look forward to most. Sure I love wrapping gifts, and making cookies.. But what fun is all of that if there isn't anything good to watch on TV? So on a whim I made a list of my top 10 Christmas Specials to share with you today. :D
(I don't have a real countdown 10-6 would be lower level and 5-1 are the better picks)
10. A Christmas Story - It's become something I watch every year. Not only is it a hilarious movie.. But One channel plays it non stop Christmas Eve-Day. It's hard to Avoid.But I do think it would be weird going thru a Holiday without getting to watch this.
9.National Lampoons Christmas Vacation - Another favorite of many. This probably reminds everyone about their own family. How can you not love a bunch of wack-a-doo people making craziness out of everyday life? It's just a good time all over. And Chevy Chase is pretty funny.
8. A year without a santa Claus - I'm a sucker for the stop motion claymation holiday goodness that Rankin & Bass created. I've been watching this movie/special for 29 years now. And I've seen it more times than that. What makes this one of my favorites? Please see below.
7. Twas the night before Christmas - Now this one is mainly a favorite because it was a Joke with my brother and I. We just liked to sing the song...
6. Pinocchio's Christmas - This is another goofy one. Not so much am I interested in Pinocchio, but the Cat and the Wolf crack me up.. Very fun.
ONTO the Top of the CROP
The following are in no REAL order. and they were in fact the 1st five that came to mind when I came up with this post.
5. Olive the Other Reindeer - This is SUCH a cute movie. 1- Drew Barrymore is Olive, a little dog, and her friend.. His name is Martini. (you love it already?! how can you not?!) My favorite, Olive reminds me of my old dog Taty. So I took to her pretty quick.. Check it out :)
4.The Grinch - This used to be a little higher up on the list, but since they show it several times now, it's lost it's magic. Wonderful none the less, and will always be a classic to me, this takes the #4 spot.
3. Santa Claus is coming to town - Another Rankin & Bass special. As I love them all, this is probably the top one. It's such a cute way to explain Santa, and the 'animation' is just too funny.. Besides where else can I see this song?
2. Elf - I don't think I have to explain this to many people. Will Ferrel. Zooey Deschanel. Christmas. Singing. I don't know how anyone could NOT like this movie. It's hard enough picking a scene that I like the best because They're ALL so Funny! If you haven't yet seen this.. For god's sake get it on Netflix or something. Hurry!! Now!!
#1 Has to go to Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. This takes the cake because it's an adorable special.The other reason would be this movie plays ONCE a year. you miss it on CBS.. You're teh suck. Gotta wait till next year. So congrats you little Independent kids.. You made it to #1
